City of Hollies

Friends of the Arboretum, building on the success of the Clark-Landsbaum Deming Park Holly Arboretum, embarked on a beautification project to plant hollies throughout the community. Most hollies are evergreen and remain attractive throughout the year. This attribute makes them especially valuable in adding beauty to the landscape throughout the winter. Beginning in 2003, the first "City of Hollies" plantings were placed at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds. Since then more than 100 hollies have been planted in public places throughout the community. Locations such as universities, public parks, breitling superocean replica schools and businesses, proudly display hollies planted by Friends of the Arboretum.
